Which, if any, major rivers in the United States are considered to be braided? Are all of them meandering?

An example of a braided river in the U.S. is the Missouri. Braided rivers and meandering rivers are not the same thing. Meandering rivers are curvy but only one channel. Braided rivers split off into seperate channels and then come back together, islands are common in braided rivers. A good website to check out for more info is www.irn.org
