What is the publication date for the 2000 AMEC Book of Discipline?

Typically it takes from one to two years for the new discipline to become available. I share your frustration with this situation, however that is the way it is.

Pastor Paris,

You indicate that it typically takes two years to published the AME Discipline. However, you do not provide a reason for this tremendious delay. Any thoughts? Would a bishop or another party reason for this publication care to comment?

The 1996 Discipline was out in the early summer of 1997 (I remember because that is when I bought mine). General Secretary Fugh has said that the goal is to have the 2000 edition out before the next General Board meeting.

I believe the General Board either meets concurrently with or subsequently to the upcoming Council of Bishops. This should be late June in California, if memory serves (I wish my subscription to Christian Recorder would kick in :().

The next General Board will indeed be concurrent with the Bishops Council meeting. They will be held June 18-21, 2001 in Los Angeles, CA at the Westin Los Angeles Airport at 5400 West Century Blvd.
