Prices for Canon AE1 with lensesgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon FD : One Thread |
I have a cannon Ae1 camera with a :Dejur #54220 zoom lens, super dejur#642387, dejur automatic #313708, and a dejur auto tele converter 2x for canon-fd. What I was wondering is if I could get a ballpark estimate from you. The camera is used but in very good condition.

Floyd,I'm sorry that I can't give you prices, but if you check out http://www.keh.com , you can check out pricing under "Used Equipment" tab at top right of homepage, then "Canon Manual Focus" under the 35mm header, and then choose the appropriate categories for your lenses... e.g., "Non-MFG zoom" for the zoom lens, since they appear to be (to my knowledge) non-Canon lenses.
The part numbers you have listed look like serial numbers. The numbers you need to id the lens are the focal length (in millimeters "mm") and maximum aperture (will appear as "f" or something like "1:3.5" on the front ring of the lens. On older FD equipment like we have, the info is usually located on the front ring of the lens.
An example: 70-210mm, f3.5 or... 70-210mm 1:3.5
Hope that helps,

KEH will classify "Dejur" lenses as "misc manufacturer," which means they won't be worth much. If you try to sell them on eBay, you might get a slight edge over other sellers with an AE-1 body and no lenses, but there just isn't much demand for no-name FD lenses. Check "completed auctions" on eBay.com to see what the current prices are for AE-1 bodies or bodies with a basic 50mm/f:1.8 lens.

Here's a link to a page that has prices on recent Ebay Canon FD trades - http://www.delanet.com/~starka/CanonFD_ebay.htmI hate to say this, but these are likely the highest prices you'll ever get. AE-1s are quite plentiful & unless you have a black one, it's new-in-box or is very early you are competing with about 5 million others. You can try advertizing on the 'net or locally and be lucky. Not too many people will pay much above these prices and you may not even get these. A camera store will likely pay only 1/2 - 2/3.
As one of the previous posters suggested the Dejur lenses are an aftermarket brand and don't have much value. They may be great but people wouldn't buy them because they are unknown.
Good luck & cheers,
Duane
