I am considering purchasing a LPL 66-SII enlarger and want to know the ups and downs, also would i be correct in saying that it is not the enlarger but the lens that is most important, as long as there is a even light distribution ???

Ben, For sure, the lens is the most important link on this chain. But it can be worthless if the enlarger doesn't provide even lightning, good lightning (considering contrast), stability to stand filter changing while making a single print, negative flatness, etc. If this particular model can fulfill these and some other requirements, be sure it's a nice enlarger. Durst and Saunders, or even Keiser, seems to be the best enlargers around by now. Have fun!
