My nubian goat has a sore foot....she is walking on 3 legs....her leg does not seem to be broken. but the hoof seems to be hurting her..what should i look for?? proper care???? Thank You....Chris

Have you tried to look in the hoof itself to see if anything might be lodged in there? A lot of times a stone, etc can become lodged. It may also be a sign of hoof rot, does the hoof smell? Do you know how to trim the hooves, reason i am asking is in your post you aske dhow to take care of a goat's hooves. If you can give a little more details then we can better help. thanks.Bernice

Yes Chris, we need more information. I have never had a goat walk like you are discribing except if they had a thorn or something stuck in between the "toes". Did this come on suddenly?? Take your finger and feel in between the toes and all around the hoof for something sharp or stuck. If you have not been trimming hooves than you need to learn how and begin if you are going to keep goats. Untrimmed hooves cause all sorts of problems, hoof rot being one of them.
