I am starting the process of biulding a cedar rowing shell. alden sells plans for their alden martin and I am looking for owners opinions of the boat. I have an alden 16 and am looking for something that is faster, a little challenging and still has good choppy water habbits. any input is welcome

Have you considered building the Bangor Packet design by Joel White? The plans have been available for years from WoodenBoat. I believe the Bangor Packet was featured in a WB article some years back. I've always found this design to be visually appealling and it looks like it would be fairly able in a wide range of conditions.
