I have a doe kid ( 9 weeks old) that has what looks like an abcess by her navel area,I figure It's from not dipping her navel in iodine.Is there something I can do for it or does it have to come to a head by itself? She's had it for 10 days

I also had one, I guess a year ago, that developed kind of a bump at the navel when I didn't iodine. I guess the navel then seeps up bacteria. Mine just went away on its own after awhile, but someone else might have an idea of something to do.

Might want to make sure it isn't a hernia. If it was on the umbilical itself than it could just be pooled dead blood, beside it I haven't a clue.

Thanks Mary ,Thanks Vickie,I'll ask some of the Goat herders around here to take a look at her.Because I've never had problems with my goats besides not being able to find them for a few hours I have no experience with health problems.
