When I took lessons many years ago, I had a book called Wright-Way Practice record. This was great because it had a spot to record your practice time and also an area for the teacher to put in the lesson that we were trying to learn at that time. I have looked for something like this and have been unsuccessful. Does anyone know where I might be able to find something like this?

Hi Ruth, As an avid fan of time management, when I first started taking lessons, I bought a count-up timer. (Radio Shack has them) When you sit at the piano, press the start button, and when you leave press the off button. The time accumulates and you can see how much time you've practiced ( I measure my time by the week, lesson to lesson). if you see that you're in day 3 of the cycle and haven't practiced as much as you would like, then you try to practice a little more-. i feel it is a very good indicator for learning as well. I find that if I practice only x amount of hours a week and don't seem to be getting anywhere, well then i know why. There really does seem to be a point (in practice) where things just gel. Anyway, it also a lot easier than writing it down. Hope this helps.
