Who do you use

I was wondering who you all use as your ISPs. I had been using a company called Sniffout (nice name) but they've just had a big barney of prices with BT and I need to find a new one.

I may well have to belong to BT as I need anytime sort of access. Any other suggestions please.

WorldOnline. Has worked out quite a bit cheaper but you have to switch your 'phone to them so no good if you want to stay with BT.

ntl is completely free apart from the cost of an additional phone line, about £7.50 a month.

I use freeserve as at the time it was 9.99 for a freephone number, but it's going up to £12.99 a month and at nights and weekends it's virtualy imposable to use it. I often pay the local call rate and use uk2net.

the pnone number for DUN is 0845 6091370. the username is uk2net and the password is uk2net. It always gives me a good connecton but as it's at local rates I use it sparingly.

I use Blueyonder (Telewest) as I had their cable telephones anyway.
Their unlimited access service costs me £10 per month in addition to the £10 pm for the dedicated phone line (not essential of course).
I'm actually considering switching to their broad-band service at £33 pm - however I don't then need the 2nd dedicated phone line, so in actual fact the high-speed service would only cost me an extra £13 pm.

Well I know it's no good to you guys and gals over there but i use the local Cable company (Shaw@home). High Speed LAN, over the cable network. Keeps my phone lines free. $49.95 a month (about 20 quid) unlimited use. And boy is it fast....

Freeserve surf time, and unlike Rik I've rarely had a problem getting in. Its something like 10.99 a month and you must use a BT line but it is free access 6pm - 8am weekdays and from 6.00pm on Friday till 8am Monday - I understand they have also just launched another one which I think is 14.99 and that give free access all day evey day.

As I say, unlike Rik, I have rarely had any problems getting in, and the kids are usually on it from 6.00 till about 10.00, hence the reason I can't get near the board until late doors.

BT Internet, it's just changed to Surftime because we didn't need 24 hour free access for another fiver a month.

There were a few hiccups last week, but apart from that it's pretty good. Their Anytime deal is £14.99 a month for 24 hour access.

For cable access, NTL do it for £20 a month including cable modem hire.

I'm on the 24 hour a day free freeserve and as I got in quick paid 9.99 a month.(now others pay 14.99) I use a different phone number to ITK and never get a good conection after 6 pm.

As I said before Rik, and like Paul, I rarely have any problems so it must be down to the area usage.

I couldn't get in last Monday at 6.00pm tried for nigh on an hour and thought we had a problem, so was about to ring them when one of the girls tried again and it went in, turned out it was just after 7.00, so I guess they forgot to change their clocks earlier in the day.

The only other time was Thursday when OI couldn't get in for love nor money, and when I did eventually ring them they told me the server in the Watford area (to which I am presumably connected) was down, but would be back up again first thing Friday and sure enough it was.

Only other problems here are down to the fact that my hard drive went tits-up on me and I was off line for a while.

IMO - As ISP's go, Freeserve ain't the best but they ain't too bad.
