I was looking in my Hives yesterday. And in one of them there was a pile of dead bees sitting on top of the frames mixed with pollen, they had been bringing in. In another corner of the hive I noticed about ten more dead bees in and they were all white. I thought it might be chalkbrood, from what I read, but I am not quite sure. I Would appriciate any help you can give me.

When was the last time u looked at them? It could be they froze to death if there wasnt a largeenough cluster to keep warm or some one may have sprayed poison and they got it back to the hive. 7 dust is deadly and it will make the bees look white.Email me with more details and will try to help. It doesn't sound like chalkbrood to me. Chalkbrood affects the larvae. Usually the worker bees will uncap the affected cells and drag the whitish chalkbrood "mummies" to the bottomboard or in front of the colony. The first nuc I bought had this disease.
