Yes, Rev. Rogers, we will have palms for the occasion. As we prepare for Resurrection Sunday, we have a full week. Sunday at 5pm we are having a Praise Service. Monday thru Weds is our Holy Week Revival with one of our Pastor's sons in the ministry, Rev Granger Browning of Ebenezer AME Church, Ft Washington, MD. Thursday is the Maundy Thursday service with Communion and the ministerial staff will preach the "Seven Words" on Good Friday evening. We will have a Fasting chain going from Thurs evening thru Sunday Sunrise service. Finally, our Resurrection Sunday service is at MIT's Kresge Auditorium. We have a Victory March from St Paul AME to MIT for the service. I know you only asked about palms but I had to shareBro. Bob

Brother Bob I am so glad that you shared the good news! It all sounds exciting. At my service we too will have palms, there is no Maundy Thursday service since we meet in a restaraunt, but we will have a good friday service at noon. And Easter service we are going to praise him mightily. Afterwards we will have a church potluck. My daughter is cooking a turkey. Isn't God good!!

In answering your question, I forgot to mention that the Victory March from St Paul AME Church to MIT Kresge Auditorium on Resurrection Sunday is a product of the visionary Bishop John Bryant, your Bishop, when he pastored here. It still lives on as part of his legacy here in Massachusetts.

Wow! I love the idea of a victory march! What is, do all the congregation participate. When I was a member of a church in New York City, we tied prayers to balloons and realed them in the air. It was a 2000 member church.

Palm Sunday has past and as we are approuching Winter in South Africa it was rainy and cold. At Calvary AME Church ,Manenberg something amazing was happening. The church was FULL.We had a visiting preacher an ex -Calvary. The Spirit was high and the word cut light a two edge sword. The singing was amazing and THE WINDOWS WERE STEAMED UP. At one stage I felt so hot i wanted to take off my robe. The thought of what conservatives would say stopped me.Even thought I did not preach ,the sweat drops flowed down my face.No matter how we plan, GOD HAS A PLAN THAT IS BIGGER AND BETTER,THAT GOES BEYONG OUR EXPECTATIONS.HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST

Pastor Ursala, thanks for your comments and perspective of the timing of Resurrection Sunday. For us "northerners", it's unusual to think of Resurrection Sunday as an autumn/winter festival as it is occurs in the spring here - though we in Ohio have had our share of "white Easters"...and I'm not referring to clothing. But for us, we also think of the "resurrection" of the earth as we pass from the drabness of winter to the brillance of spring with the shrurbs, flowers, and trees awakening to new life.

Larry it is still winter in Montana, I moved here nine years ago, and bought gorgeous pink heels for easter. They are still in the box! It always snows. Now I buy a dress long enough for easter to cover my snow boots. And the easter egg hunt means finding eggs in the snow. So our weather is more like South Africa this time of year. As a matter of fact, today Maundy thursday it is snowing!!;-)

Denise, Well I suppose your "unemployed 4" pumps" in the great state of MT has frigtened away many potential podiatrists to set up practice. So do you wear your ski shoes to church as substitue footwear? We Floridians often wear sandals and short pants but I digress......:-) QED

Well Brother Bill, once again you have to brag about the warmth in your beautiful state of florida. (Heehee)There is a chance for snow on Sunday in my town. But I just got a call today that some of the Black athletes are coming to church on Sunday. So I will be wearing flats, for we are having a 23 pound turkey with the trimmings after church for the kids, since they will not be able to go home. I love Montana with all of my heart and easter is so special wherever one lives, whether it is cold or warm. For God's gift to us in the form of the risen Christ is magnificent. By the way several of the ski resorts in the area will have a 5 AM sunrise service on the ski slopes. And know I will not do that, I do not down hill ski. Happy Easter!!
