Flash for Minolta x700

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I have a Minolta X700 that I got in 1988 and have never had a flash for it. I mostly just need to add the flash for indoor and low light pictures, and am an amateur photographer. Any suggestions on a good flash to purchase?

Sunpak 383 would be my choice.

The Auto 360 PX was the top of the line dedicated flash for the X- 700. These pop up on Ebay fairly often (that's where I got mine) and give you bounce and swivel capability. The advantage of this unit over something like the Sunpack or the Vivitar 283 is that you get TTL along with manual and automatic operation.

I have a Sunpak 383 for my Minolta XG-1. I love it. It has bounce/swivel, the auto sensor is great, and it just plain rocks. With the GN of 160 it's pretty potent, and works well with my 300mm lens when shooting birds and animals. :-)
