I've said it before and I'll say it again. A good site for general self-sufficiency, including homesteading, is the Rocky Mountain Survival Group. It's www.artrans.com/rsmg. They cover just about everything---butchering, curing meat, gardening, preserving the garden, chickens, building your own incubators and brooders, chicken houses, sheep, cows, tanning hides, etc.
