The law is very clear regarding third party disclosure. A lender or credit reporting agency cannot disclose any specific information regarding someone or any information regarding their credit or accounts without full, written consent from that person. The only time a company or agency can release any such information is, the "tattle tale law" in community property states such as Wisconsin. If someones spouse opens a credit account a lending is required to notify the spouse that the account was opened. For more information contact any books about fair lending awareness or credit law, specifically the fair credit reporting act and the privacy act.
