WHY I LOVE MICHIGAN

When it's Wintertime in Michigan, And the gentle breezes blow, About seventy miles an hour, And it's fifty-two below, You can tell you're in Michigan, 'cause the snow's up to your butt; And you take a breath of Winter air, And your nose holes both freeze shut. The weather here is wonderful, So I guess I'll hang around. I could NEVER leave Michigan; My feet are frozen to the ground.

We don't live in Michigan but certainly close enough (2 miles south of the state line) to know the truth in the above and I'm still laughing. Love the line about the gentle breezes!

I feel the same way about Alaska, I love the place but it does get a little chilly sometimes. I can tell when the temps have gotten below 10 degrees (not including windchill) when I go outside to have a smoke and I can feel my nosehairs freeze up when I inhale.

Smoking outside when its cold like that is kind of nasty because the smoke condenses almost instantly on your clothes and you stink for the next few hours, I keep a jacket thats just for smoking in, I suppose I really should quit.

I identify. I live in Southwest Mich and boy was it cold yesterday morning. This morning I have 32o warmer than yesterday. They are predicting rain and an high of possibly 50o today although I doubt it will get there but you never know. I would not live anywhere else!

Sorry, can't identify (fortunately!) 80º yesterday. Today cooler. Weather bounces here during the winter. Hot one day, drops 30-50 degrees that night. Cold for a couple of days ~ 30's-40's-50's. Back up to the 70's for a few days. Up and down. Can't really complain (altho I am) about our cold days knowing what some of you are going thru. That's why I live in the sunbelt!

You're making me homesick! Lived most of my life in Upper Michigan and truely believe it is "God's Country" as the natives refer to it. I'm fortunate enough to still have a place there that I can call home and try to make it back as often as I can. My favorite thing about Upper Michigan is being able to see the Northern Lights, summer and winter. We're in Central Wisconsin now and keep looking but haven't seen them here yet.
