Derek that is very kind of you to post jobs. Perhaps you can put such listings on one of the free web sites such as www.bigstep.com and post the web address on the board. Then people can look when they are ready and you will not have to send emails. Also I am very interested in the Quaker, AME background. Could you share a little more with us on the topic. Are you Quaker?

Rev. Rogers, I was reminded of the Quaker/AMEC relationship when reading the history of the Bensalem AME. I became a Quaker in the early '70s and formed my own local AME connection during my first affirmative action recruiting job in 1976. I circulated jobs to several South Jersey AMEs (for several years and several companies)- with occasional success. When I went on my first AA campus recruiting trip to (then) Cheney State College. I was feeling rather CONSPICUOUS on that campus until I noticed the name "Biddle Hall." That is a classic Quaker name. Only then did I find out the the college was founded by the Quakers "for the sons of freedmen." (In the 1670s John Woolman of Mount Holly, NJ almost singlehandedly talked Quakers north and south into freeing their slaves - or becoming non-Quakers - on the premise that owning another person was in conflict with the fundimental Quaker belief that "there is that of God in every man.")

If you are operating out of Yardley, we are indeed neighbors for aside from being the Pastor of Bensalem A.M.E., you might have read I was the creator and editor of phillyburbs.com your friendly area website for the local newspapers that serve you , the Bucks County Courier Times, The Doylestown Intelligencer, The Montgomery County Record, and the Burlington County Times.

I would modestly say that A.M.E. Today is one of the more widely read A.M.E. web sites and you know have given me a brainstorm. I will create an area where people interested in diversifying their staffs can post job openings. It might take me a day to complete but I will do it in a database fashion so it will be searchable.

Derek thank you for info on the background of the quakers, I am so happy you are posting on our discussion board. By the way I live in Bozeman, Montana and our mayor Marcia Youngman is a Quaker.
