My created VCD is not playing anything

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I just made a bunch of VCD's using M.Pack to encode MPEG and Toast 4x to burn. But when I try to use it it won't play in my RCA DVD player (which supposedly supports vcd) and it also doesn't play in my Apple DVD player. I can open the files in Quicktime, but the main reason I am trying to make a VCD is so I can share it with people who have dvd players. What are the best DVD players to buy that will play Toast made VCDs? Will Panasonic 3DO play VCD's? Am I doing something wrong?

Please make a visit to www.vcdhelp.com and check out the CDR & CDRW compatible DVD player list. It may be your DVD player is not capable of using CDR disc for VCD. Most DVD models will say DVD/VCD/CD compatible; However, they neglect to tell you the compatible means commercial pressed media only! You need to actual read further to see if your player will also support CDR or CDRW.

Ive never tried toast, always used NERO to burn VCD, never had a problem as it sets up all the files correctly for you. May be worth a try.

Here we go agen: your RCA doesn't play CD-R/RW. Donate it to the Salvation Army and get a Philips or Pioneer instead.
