Hey Steve, I can't help you, but Amanda lives in West Plains, MO., I think. I looked on the map when I saw her post to the "Where are you" thread, to see how close she is to my land (Hartville, MO). It's about 40 miles. I'd be thrilled to hear any info on the area as well. Amanda, hope you see this!

I have never lived there, but used to pass through ALOT on business. Nice place, very hilly roads. The road to take you to the turnpike passes through town. I have known people that lived there and loved the small town feel of it. It isn't too far from bigger towns or cities, so if you need something they don't have, you aren't far from anything. Not too far anyway. Hope this helps!

Hello,I live about 20 miles from Chandler. Nice small town close to I-44 (toll interstate). You can commute to OKC pretty easy from there. Since I am not sure where you would be moving from not sure what info is most important to you. Feel free to e-mail me. We moved here from NE in Jan and people here are SUPER nice, and RE is very inexpensive. Its very rural around the area.
We have a horse ranch, but lots of cattle around also.

Hey someone is finally interested in my neck of the woods! I live close to West Plains Missouri. At least it is one of the closer towns I can claim....I live way out in the boonies :o). I can probably answer any questions you have about this area. It is beautiful, folks are friendly, taxes are ridiculously low and land is cheap. Write me with specific questions. I'd be glad to help.

I just moved to Oklahoma three months ago. I do love it here. I moved South of the Chandler area in Ada Oklhoma. I think this is the best town I have ever lived in. Nice people, nicely kept, and very homey.Little Bit Farm

I didn't realize there were so many Oklahoma people out there with the same interest. I moved to Eastern Oklahoma a couple years ago and this is the first time in my life I have had a hard time finding close friends. It may be my age and the fact my kids are going to College now. My daughter is in Stillwater now and loves it and the other will be going OKB in Shawnee. Both are close to Chandler and I like that area. Did any of your Oklahoma people get hit as bad as me with that recent Ice Storm (13 days with water, ultilities of anykind). Back now and cleaning up.

We used to live in Luther. Still own a house there. It is about 23 miles from the Chandler, Ok area. My husband used to work at Farmfresh Dairy there. It is about 45 mins. to an hour from OK City. The soil is clay mostly with some sandy loam where the trees have been or are. We have a place on a hill that was all sandy loam. Last I checked there were a few people with iron in their water, so you might ask when you look at places. The land is very cheap compared to other areas of the country. There is a great farm supply there and in Luther too. We never had a problem with our well at all and hit water at about 45 feet. Lots of great clean well-water. Trees are kind of small, mostly blackjack. Great fire wood and plenty of it if you get a spot that is wooded. Lots of large lakes around too.
