I have an Omega D2V enlarger. It has a problem with the focusing mechanism. At a certain point in the bellows travel range the focus knob and shaft start to slip without moving the rails and bellows. The small wheels on the focus shaft are losing their grip on the two slotted rails. I tried tightening the screws that push the small springs tighter against the shaft to increase the friction, but it didn't help too much. Any other ideas?

Answers

I also tried using clean Q-tips to remove any residual grease from inside the focus rail slots. This helped a little more.
