Who were the parents of Annis Arnold? She married Clement Carter in 1795. Clement and Annis were the parents of Baxter (Baldy) Henderson Carter and Jarrett Carter. They lived off of Ridge Street near present day Dunn's Grove Church.

I'm confused. I find Stephen and Clement Carter in Stanly Co, Nc and in Pittsylvania Co, VA at the same times. My database is getting danger signals since I'm related to Carters in Stanly and in Pittsylvania counties! Those from Pittsylvania are a direct line via Charles E. Carter who married a Walters and had a daughter Lucy who married a Hall and they (the latter couple) moved to Surry Co, NC abt 1836. This is just info. But also is a request for clarity involving those marriages among Stokers, Carters, Marshalls, etc in Stanly Co, NC, Halifax Co, VA and Pittsylvania Co, VA (formed from Halifax).
