The second Principle of Kwanzaa is described as Kujichagulia or self-determination. This principle stresses the importance of knowing oneself, defining ourselves, naming, creating and speaking for ourselves. Human progress begins with individual awareness and personal indentity. Modern black theology would compliment this principle by advocating a knowledge of " who you are and whose you are". Consider the passage from Joshua 24:14-18. QED
