A New Tradition For Christams - A Challengegreenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread |
A new church was born on the First Sunday of Advent, St. Paul Community in Bozeman Montana, pastored by Rev. Denise Rogers, a frequent contributer to this discussion forum. Let each one of us who also contributes to this forum send a $20.00 bill or a $25.00 check or money order as our contribution of seed money for this baby church. Can we count on you? Rev. Rogers, please get a P.O. box to receive the contributions as the Lord pours out His blessings. Pastor Paris

Pastor Paris and all the saints! Thank you for your generosity and love. I cannot begin to express in words how I feel about serving the lord, for as a child, I hated God, was a high school drop out, a member of the Nation of Islam, alcoholic at the age of nine. But God sent a Pastor to bring me from the depths of Hell and my life was changed when Jesus came into my life. Many years later with a college degree a M.Div from Princeton, performing on Broadway, awards etc. I can say my life belongs to Jesus! I will go where he sends me,I will go and tell the good news, I do not ask for a mega church or a "flagship" church for EVERY church is a flagship church for Christ. St. Paul Community Church is here because 60 percent of the people in Montana do not belong to a church. I am honored that God raised me, trained me,loves me and trusts me to start this church here in Bozeman, Montana. My sisters and brothers in Christ, please go and tell the good news, ask your Bishops if you can start churches, work one or two jobs to support your endeavors and I tell you your reward on earth and heaven will be great! The majority of the people who came to my service on sunday had not been to church in years. They cried at communion, they smiled when they were told Jesus loves them, and they held hands when they were told they will never have to be alone. One woman had not prayed in two years. She called me on Monday to say, she prayed and God fixed her stove that had been broken for a year and had a gas leak. She had been keeping her windows open in 20 below zero weather. She is coming back sunday with friends. Our Presiding Elders and Bishops want our denomination to grow. But they need our help, invite people to your homes for worship, call them love them as Christ loves us. I am honored that I have all of you as friends. I have never felt this welcomed in any other denomination, never felt such love. I am 48 years old and I am home! Pray for our denomination, focus on evangelism, both here and on the continent of Africa, thank you for the monetary help you are sending, but I also ask that this challenge be extended to my African sisters and brothers who have nothing, let's also pick a church in Africa, the carribean every month and send them money. We are a connectional church, we will only grow if we help all. thank you for your generosity, let us pray and give to our African family also. I have been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, please God my only desire is to witness for you. My address is. St. Paul Community Church P.O.
