competing boards?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Poole's Roost II : One Thread |
Now that TB2K has folded its tent, I am aware of at least 3 other Usenet boards that cater to many of the same folks. It will be interesting to see who ends up going where. I see some of the same posts on the different boards. Maybe each board will develope its own personality; maybe one board will become dominant.I wonder where I should post this? Which board am I on now?

We're on a board? Sheesh I'm confused.

Lars,You are here.
I hope this helps.

I have no problem if this board becomes THE place to hang. I thought that Stephen had a nice quiet homey place here, and I didn't know if he would put up with the rowdies, so the wild west was opened up in order that unruly posters would have a place to meet. Time will tell which will become dominant.

I do not think there is any competition. Since the original TB2K, and the subsequent springing up of other boards, there have always been cross posts. No harm there. Methinks that everyone benefits; this board will probably stay somewhat quiet. Human nature being what it is, I think most folks who desire a free-for-all(which was many on the recently defunct board) will end up in the west

The true free-for-all is at TB2K UNMODERATED(maybe the die hard extremists will all go over *there* and let the rest discuss is *peace*???? hoping and praying)

I visited there. When I clicked on a thread, I got Server Error...'tain't working properly...maybe it's a good thing. I can't imagine a totally unmoderated site.Smells like a joke.

Lars,I assure you, there's no competition.
Even if this place drops to one post a week, I'll keep it open, because I need a cork board on which to spike my erudite commentary for the masses. :)

Exactly. You are erudite, I am a barbarian, with boards to match our personalities. I enjoy your commentary, stop over the saloon any time, the whiskey is warm and the wimmin are hot, but please keep both hands on the table during poker.

erudite. I learned a new word from a barbarian.
