I return from work and learn that I must part company with a former compatriot. Peg, how COULD you?!?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Poole's Roost II : One Thread |
I submit as evidence, yer honners, this thread:http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=00499M
Containing, to whit, this exact quote from Peg:

I'm shattered. I'm crushed. I'm flabbergasted. I'm a Democrat who voted for Bush. I'm ... I'm ... I'm ... . . .. I'm headed into the bathroom, to weep silently amongst the mildew.
(For those who care, see my ditty on coffee here, that thou mayest gain understanding. :)

Slain, my heart is SLAIN!!!!Elsewhere in the thread, Paul and Anita admit that they don't even DRINK the stuff!!!
[Wanders aimlessly about the carpet, mumbling about arabica beans to the furniture ...]

I'm still with you :-)

Stephen, there is a little hope for them. I have found that just the smell of Vanila Almond beans is enough to drive anyone to drink(ing) coffee.

Now, now, Stephen...collect yourself, and I will try to explain. You see, I was raised on the stuff. Started drinking coffee (instant) since I was a mere child of two. Used to grab the babysitters cup and help myself (or so I was told). My mother only had instant in the house. When I was old enough to try different kinds...I found that a stronger coffee gave me heart palpatations (before decaff). So the Maxwell House instant gives me just the right amount of caffine to get a jump on the day, without those nasty side affects.
And I only drink one cup of that and half of it is skim milk...ya I know, YUK!!!..
Guess I'm a coffee wuss...heh :)

OK, must part company with you, Cherri, on this one. Coffee should not have flavors beyond the flavor of coffee.
Fruit belongs as a side dish (e.g., "raspberry"); vanilla belongs in Ice Cream; nuts (e.g., almonds) belong ..... well, I can't really eat those things so I don't really care. But they DON'T belong in coffee.
Coffee should be left unto its own :-)
