well he never sold food.. it was the mascot tiger for exxon.. and everyone used to have the tiger tale thing hanging on their rear view mirror. that was ultimate tackiness. how cool.

Peanuts peanut butter, promoted by the Peanuts gang! That peanut butter was the absolute fucking BOMB. Lucy's peanut butter was the best cos hers had all the sugar and salt and all that nasty stuff that makes peanut butter good. This was in Australia, I'm not sure where else it was sold? Is it still being made? I last saw a jar a year or two ago, but nothing since. They don't have those awesome commercials anymore :(.

Wait, you mean you're telling me that there was a Peanuts line of peanut butter and each character had their own different kind of peanut butter? Oh my god, how did I miss that? That's awesome.

I don't know what the best product hawking cartoon is, but I know what the worst one is: That frigging whistling smiley face from Wal-Mart. Bah!

About the Wal-Mart smiley face:

During my last job (as a financial modeling geek for a Pittsburgh grocery chain), one of my coworkers had a Wal-Mart bag tacked to his cubicle, with a trail of red ink coming from the center of the smiley face's forehead. Cute.
