Hello, Eric?greenspun.com : LUSENET : digital ink : One Thread |
Coming out of the woodwork...I've been anxiously awaiting a guest entry from digital ink boyfriend-in-chief Eric, but it looks like we won't be getting one any time soon. So, I'm just going to ask some questions that I've been curious about...
Whose idea was it for Katie to move? Yours? If so, why? If not, did you try to talk her out of it? What was your initial reaction to her move? Did you actually think she'd go through with it?
Does it freak you out that she's living with your ex-girlfriend? I'm assuming that you and The Ex are on pretty decent terms (considering, as Katie put it, that she was so willing to "help you get laid on a regular basis")?
So what's the deal with you and Katie now, anyway? I know before it was "no labels" -- is she your "girlfriend" now?
What's it like having her around? Do you all see each other pretty often?
Do you guys fight? About what?
I'm not trying to jump the gun, but can you see you and Katie lasting a long time, moving in together, maybe even getting married? Not that you're thinking about marriage right now, but you know what I mean. Sometimes you have a feeling about the possibilities early on.
Umm... that's it, for right now. :-)

. . . You may have on your desk pencils and three sheets of binder paper--nothing else. Do the best you can in the 60 minutes alloted. You may now begin.

lol Well they are good questions.

Katie... make him answer! :-)

The answers will be forthcoming - I owe Katie a guest entry anyway, so I'll tackle the questions there. I won't have the time or energy to devote to it, though, until my next days off - this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Look for something then.Eric...who's known to make these grand pronouncements and then forget the whole thing, so don't bet the farm...

Don't bet the firm?Golf, you really didn't have to go into the whole self-deprecating "I-never-follow-through-with-stuff" spiel. I'd have been more than happy to do it for you.
Firm, schmirm. Don't anyone bet a nickel. I'll eat my hat if he actually writes an entry, and I'll eat weirder stuff if he comes close to any of those questions you asked.
(This may just about get you back for that Passe Today. Maybe.)

Uh. Farm makes a lot more sense. But I wouldn't bet either one.I'm tired.
-- Anonymous, November 27, 2000
Maybe it's a firm farm. Or a farm firm, like a place you'd go to deal on farms and stuff.

So basically what Eric is going to do, if he actually does write a guest entry, is take the cheap "question-and-answer" route, where you don't really actually have to write much, but you can still call it an entry.Hmmmmmph. Bad boyfriend-in-chief! Bad!
Oh well. The odds of us seeing any sort of guest entry from old Eric are slim to none, anyway. I'd also eat my hat if he writes one, but I don't own a hat. So I'll have to eat something else. Maybe one of the Super K vests that I never wear.

Hello,Seeing as how I have been mentioned I thought it best to offer my two- cents worth.
First, when you make an assumption you make an ass of you and an mption. Don't assume anything. I could go into what I believe and disbelieve, but I can't jump into anyone's mind to confirm my thoughts and, hence, am not going to do so. But I have beliefs and they have changed over the past couple of months.
Two, I am not "The Ex." I am a person. I have a name. It's Treva. Feel free to use my name to address me. I've been mentioned on the forum and throughout the site, so I would appreciate not being called "The Ex." Calling me "one of the roommates" is even okay, but absolutely NOT "The Ex." I feel like I'm being pigeon-holed into something, but I am so much more than that.
Three, again, no assumptions, please. Just because things seem peachy keen doesn't mean they are. But they might just be.
Thank you and goodbye.

Um... I didn't mean it like you're taking it, Treva.
-- Anonymous, November 28, 2000
Okay, so now I'm quite curious. ARE things peachy keen? Treva, do you ever get jealous seeing Katie with Eric?Is Treva the only roommate who reads your web page and posts here? Where are the others?
More for Eric, if he's willing to answer them.
I remember somebody saying something about Katie being so quiet around you... is she still? And is that good or bad?
Do you all have nicknames for each other? :-) What?
Would you be averse to Katie and I going out on a date (if she would do me the honor)? Have to ask... I live in Norfolk.

Wow. I must say I admire this guy's moxie.

Please don't take my message too harshly, though it does have some harshness to it. But had I not said something, how long would the forum have gone with me being called that? Probably the whole time -- unless a friend or aquaintance had said my name. Even then, how many people would have followed the lead of the author? It didn't feel like it had been said in passing. My name is all over this site where Eric and Katie as a couple or where Katie is living is concerned. I guess I wonder why it was so hard to use my name instead of putting me into a category often associated with negative connotations. Had this been done in passing, like, "Who's Treva?" "Oh that's Eric's ex-girlfriend." I could've gone with that. I just....
And I am probably over-analyzing this whole thing.... But this is how I feel about it. And people can't help how they feel. So, please accept my apologies on my over-analyzation of the situation.
Oh, and I'm sorry if this threw any digink forum readers for a loop.
Sincerely,

Hehe... Sounds like if Treva ever met this Adam guy, his "chestnuts" would be roasting over an open fire... But that's just an assumption... oh crap... assumptions are bad cause when one assumes it makes an ass out of U and I forget the rest of that saying... oh well... anyways... I've known Treva for a short while and I've known Eric for an even shorter while. (Just for the record I think I might have sorta meet Katie once, but I'm not sure...) Where was I? Oh yeah... I've known Treva long enough to know that she hates labels... What was the question? Hmmm.. that's right... Would Eric ever write an entry... I am going to say *gasp* Eric WILL one day write an entry for this forum... and I'm willing to bet a whole penny on it! Any takers??? Yes?? No??? Who am I? I'm Jon, pleased to meet you and you and you and you.... but not you...
-- Anonymous, November 28, 2000
Treva, you go girl. You are a person, not just the "ex".And Jon, you made me laugh. You sound like one of my guy friends. Hehe :)
-- Anonymous, November 28, 2000
Man, that ex of mine sure can get snippy. ;)Oh, and no, you can't take her out on a date. If she finds out what real men are like, I'm done for.
-- Anonymous, November 28, 2000
Jillian: If I made one person laugh than I shall be happy for the day... or at least half the day... mmmm... okay a couple of hours... actually minutes... okay okay, I had a smile on my face for a couple of moments... but, hey me making someone else laugh made me happy so it should make you happy! Or something...Eric: "Ex's" tend to get snippy if they've been snipped themselves... or something, in case you haven't notice, I don't know what the hell I'm talking about, as usual... but you should already have figured that out... or not...
