My New Job (& how it will affect B&W World)greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread |
Hi Folks,I am proud to announce that I have accepted the position of Managing Editor of Popular Photography. I start on Monday, November 20. It's a big job--I will be responsible for making sure the magazine is published accurately and on schedule--and will be involved in decisions that will affect the editorial balance and (hopefully) be able to do some writing as well.
And I expect to get it all done in time to pick my kids up from daycare.
The bad news is that I will need to step back from Black & White World for a while, at least until I have learned and feel comfortable with my job. Therefore, much of the content of Black & White World is going on hiatus. I will not be updating the site on a regular basis, although I will try to add fresh content every so often. I wish I could continue to be involved in B&W World at the same level as before, but I don't see how I'll have the time.
I also will not have the time to moderate these forums. I have been in touch with individuals and will be handing off moderating responsibilities shortly. I hope to have an announcement tomorrow about a new moderator for several key forums.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for participating, and I encourage you to continue to do so! I am constantly amazed at the level of expertise that can be found here and am heartened that so many people are willing to share their knowledge. I'd start mentioning names but I'm afraid of leaving someone out, so I'd just like to thank those of you who are constantly helping people out.
So thanks to all, and keep talkin'!

Just as a followup, I am pleased to announce that Ed Buffaloe has agreed to moderate this forum. He has been active in the B&W World forums for quite some time, and has a very informative site, www.unblinkingeye.com.Cheers!

Mason, Congratulations on the position, we will miss your touch on this forum. I am happy, however that it will now be in the capable hands of Ed Buffaloe, an excellent choice in my opinion. Thanks also to Ed for offering his time and expertise to help keep this, one of the most valuable forums for B&W photography, running at its accustomed high level. ;^D)
