Poe was alwys depressed because: B7his mother died & his father abandoned him. B7He was in contstant feuding withe his foster father. B7Many of his loves died of teburculosis, or either rejected him. B7He wanted to be loved so badly. B7HE was in massive debt because of gambling.

it's thought that EA Poe had Manic-depressive illness (also known as Bipolar) that would explain his foul moods and sad thoughts along with striveing for happyness
