Encouragement

After getting so much help from all of you, I thought I'd give a little enouragement. Something's telling me that someone needs to read this today.

Keep going, one step at a time. Where will you be this time next year if you don't? Whether it's to make something, go somewhere, lose weight, whatever. If you take one step at a time you will get somewhere. You may only have part of your project done or may only lose a few pounds but if you don't start you won't have anything done and you may be heavier.

Learn to forgive, unforgiveness is bad pride and it causes diseases and failure. What a burden to carry. Remember those you hate rule your life.

And on that note, don't seek revenge. I was listening to a sermon of sorts that says the Old Testament gives us the right to revenge, but the way the New Testatment is to let God handle it. It's been my experience that if God gets your revenge for you, it's so much sweeter. Perhaps revenge isn't the issue, but just letting Him work it out. Even the small things. I see revenge seeking especially in you adults. "Well I'll show them." well good for them. Why waste the energy and time. If you truly seek wisdom in these matters, you'll know when the time is right to take action.

Remember, you can never force anyone to love you. And if love doesn't come from the heart then it isn't love.

One more thing. When you get where you're going, don't forget where you've been or who helped you get there.

You've got a lot of wisdom there, Cindy.

Your quote about remember you helped you get where you're going is priceless!!!

I have been struggling with writing yet another domestic violence article for one of the newspapers I write for and it's hard to come up with something fresh but I have to remember the promise I made to other women as I came back across the US several years ago, staying in domestic violence shelters as I made my way back home, that because I was a writer, I would tell their stories to the world so that others who need help will seek it....so now I can write this article with a new vision. Thank you Cathy!!!

Your advise will also help all those who are homesteading (us to) who get discouragement from family and "friends" and who must daily rise about that discouragement and look at the bigger picture! thank you!

Bravo Cindy! If more folks thought this way there would be a lot less violence in this world! I abhor violence, but advocate non-violent civil disobedience to solve one's problems in society, and forgiveness of our enemys. Hate truly serves no useful purpose other than to propagate more hate. Life is tooooooo short for taking things for granted. Every moment is one left. You know what I realized? That I am always wishing for the weekend or for something else... and I discovered I was wishing my life away cause every moment is one less we have.

Oh Bernice, I have spent way to many hours wishing my life away. It's like a trap we get caught in. Or just wait until...ahhhh!! Now is what we have, I think when I get like this I need to pray and praise. Thanks for that thought provoking response.
