Hello, I am completely new to digital photography, and I would like to purchase my first digital camera. After a lot of reading around, I think I want either the Olympus 2500L or the 3000Z, but I have not made up my mind about which one is best for me.

Basically, should I trade the higher resolution of the 3000Z for the SLR viewfinder of the 2500L? The price of the two cameras is pretty much the same, and I don't care too much about USB as I am going to use a smartmedia or compactflash reader anyway.

Anything else that I might want to know before I make a choice?
