so how do you use irc i got a client and i tried channel "#marp" but i couldn't connect, do i need to input a ip or domain name for the name service?

what you'll need to do is connect to an IRC server. The way you do this is by typing:

/server irc.prison.net <--- this is an EFNet server - and is a good example.

When you see some form of the Message of the day(MOTD) - then you know you're on the server. THEN you can type /join #marp - or in the meeting's instance, /join #marpeditors marpeditors64 (the last word is a key or password you'll need to get in the room)

irc.prison.net is banning me :) I was able to connect with linux irc but i'm on windows mirc now, i guess if all else fails i'll do the linux irc.
