Quaker Multigrain

Does anybody live in an area where Quaker's Multigrain hot cereal is available? I got some a couple of years ago and really liked it, but now I can't find it anywhere. I have sent Quaker e-mail asking where it might be available but so far no reply. There is a letter on thier web site from someone with the same question, and their reply was to stock up on it when you go visiting an area where it is available. Well, duh! I would gladly pay somebody to ship me some. Les

I've never bought this cereal, but if it is just mixed grains that have been rolled or ground, is there any way that you could make it yourself? It'd be cheaper that way, too.

Les, I checked at the local Foodlion today. No Quaker Multigrain but they do have a Nabisco Multigrain Instant Hot Cereal. It comes in Banana Nut and Raspberry flavors. Regular price is $2.99 for 8 packet servings. Current price is $1.99 per box. If you want to try it, let me know. Seems high to me, but we all have our favorites. Also, next time I'm in the local mom and pop grocery I'll see if they have it or will order it. They are very good about special orders and usually sell them to me at cost. This is the only place I can find Banner Sausage anymore, and it is only because they order it for me. I know Banner Sausage looks like dog diarhea but I love it. It is my special quirk that allow myself. Know what it is like to find that special food. Terri

Quaker finally answered me back that the only stores in my area that sell it is Jewel. I checked Jewel's web site and they don't seem to list any stores within 200 miles of me. Oh well. I had considered making it myself, like someone suggested, but I don't remember what all grains are in it. I do have a grain mill so I could crack the grains, but would have to buy the oats already rolled. I too have seen the "instant" products that someone mentioned, that's not quite the same. They all have flavors added, this does not. It's just plain old rolled and cracked grains. I do appreicate the offer though. I guess my next move will be to try to talk my local store into ordering some for me. I didn't know you could do that. Wish me luck. Les

Les, you could call the natural foods store in your area and ask if they carry 5 grain or 7 grain cereal. Arrowhead Mills is the only brand I can think of right now. You can add a cup of leftover cooked cereal to home baked bread, too, yummy!!

Les, Walmart supercenter sells it here. $1.88 per box. Maybe on sale though ( not sure if that is regular price ) Is this stuff in a box like oatmeal? Says Quaker Multigrain Hot Cereal on the box. Sound good? What do ya think?

We've got Jewel all over the place here. I'll look next time I'm shopping and let you know.

Found Quaker Multigain Hot Cereal at our local Wal Mart. It's $1.84 for a 18 oz canister. Let me know if you would like me to send you some, the store only had four containers on the shelf.
