I have been offered a deal on a G4, 170 Gigs (internal), 256 mg, no monitor...considering the dual processor came out, it this a good deal?

Also is it good to have 170 gigs all internally? Should I and could I take some of those gigs and put them externally? What are the advantages to it or not doing it.

I have an Xl-1. What else do I need to be making my own shorts. Another monitor? Tape decks? Programs? Monitors? Any suggestions?

Please help?
