17 September 1997, Barcelona at SJP. We must have lost this game really heavily because every time Barca go a goal down in the Champions League the ITV commentators tell everyone that you can never write them off because they remember this game when NUFC were "murdered" and "ripped apart" in the second half. I have a hazy memory of Tino scoring a hattrick and us winning, but I must be mistaken, Big Fat Ron knows everything.

Two tightly fought encounters here with nobody wanting to give anything away. The difference for the Dabizas Pleazas was the linkup play offered by Albert and Beresford who managed to nullify the neat passing of Wallsend Old Boys' Barnes. MinesaS&N Academicals can thank Shay Given for keeping them in the match and Gillespie for some sensational crosses to give them the winner over Pete's Plucky First Division side.

This gives us an all-Premiership Final to be held at the end of the season at the newly renovated St James's Park.
