BBSCLFA Cup Round 3greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread |
9 Jan 1999, Chelsea at SJP, we lost 1-0 to a very dubious goal from Petrescu. Dubious because the ball was crossed for the goal from out of play on our right. Domi made his debut and we were denied a free kick in the box when De Goey got so upset by Shearer standing in front of him that he chose to push him over; bizarre.

Notionless First divison side Real Zaragossy thrash Premiership biig boys the Toon Goons 8-0......and they say 'freak results' don't happen!

Yesssssssss.......quarter finals...better than we had expected. Only three more wins.............only three more wins.

Well what can I say about a defence like that? Two more sweet peases and we let in two soft goals. It's enough to make you have enough. It's times like this that I realise we haven't come very far at all. I'm off to forget something.

As the only lower division representative left, and facing a Premiership team I would like to ask for special consideration and request that (on hands and knees begging the BBSCLFA commisioner, re: Softie) can I please have the home ground advantage at least. And a couple of questions. Do you factor in an extra points ratio bonus in favour of the EPL teams when EPL teams play lower division teams due to the gulf in class between the three divisions?
And is there a home ground advantage as well?
And if not, totally forget the questions or the ideas forthwith.
;-)

Hme advantage of 2 points (extra man) exists in all BBSCL fixtures, League and Cup. No advantage for being from a higher division other than entering at a later round. There will be in the next season but all will be revealed if we ever finish this one!

Softie, "if we ever finish this one" - LOL! Hasn't the weather been awful this season. I've never seen so many postponements. At least my lot are now mathematically safe from the drop. Stottie cup SF should be due soon?

With ante-natal classes, real football, bbs downtime and home connection problems, it's a wonder we've got as far as we have :-)It was all supposed to be done and dusted 2 weeks before the start of the real season but there you go. Obviously another postponement tonight, but should be Stottie Cup Semi and round 25 of the League tomorrow evening (but don't bet on it!).
