How many of you have actually had to write a resume? I know most of our readers are still in college, and i for one don't have much of a clue. Dude, it sucks some ass. Thank god for david. If you know of any great resources (monster sucks), post them here and i'll add them to the weblog.

yea i had to write one up...don't use those word templates, they suck. also, make sure if you need to send someone a resume as an attachment do it in notepad or something primitive like that. save it as a text file. use spaces rather than your tab key to fomat it, since everyone's tab setting is different. they might end up looking at a messed up text document, which was fine @ your end.keep it simple and plain. keep it concise and to the point. do add your skills and knowledge of software you know and how proficient you're w/ it.

hehee, renyi, i'm having problems remembering all the programs i work with all the time. And i wonder if you're supposed to list basic stuff like windows 9x and word and lotus and star, word processing shit.

yea, go ahead and list them. group them however, like Microsoft Office: Word2000, PowerPoint2000...etc...also include the most current version you work with. like Macromedia Flash4. Macromedia Freehand9. remember to capitalize these names too...why am i telling you all this when you have dave? shees.

for the benefit of others, of course.

I had to make a resume last year. It was pretty funny. I used my roomy's as a model. I think I was following it a little too closely, but luckily I caught myself and corrected it when I put that I attended her highschool...Then I decided I didn't care anymore, and to have fun with it. So when I was describing my past jobs, I listed the associated skills as "sorting bugs, and grinding leaves and dirt." But I did strive to find a more eloquent job title rather than how I usually refer to myself: "undergraduate slave in an ecology lab."
