it's funny you bring this topic up!! I'm listening to my playlist on napster right now [the server won't let me connect and download more songs though...rawr. I only have 25 files so far which sorta sucks].
anyway, the ones I can't stop playing are:
-The Get Up Kids - No Love
-The Get Up Kids - Anne Arbour
-Belle and Sebastian - Ease Your Feet In The Sea
-Belle and Sebastian - Dirty Dream Number Two
-Tenchi Muyo [anime] - Forevermore
-Tenchi Muyo [anime] - Sad Ayeka
-Wham! - Careless Whispers
eh, I'm diverse!

this is a good topic. it's interesting to see what you listen to, katie, since you never talk about your musical interests.
here is my playlist
better off alone (alice deejay)
made in secret (rainer maria)
a dozen roses (braid)
i think god can explain (splender)
week long embrace (the juliana theory)
absolutely [story of a girl] (nine days)
fa fa (guster)
and i am also currently extremely addicted to _look now look again_ by rainer maria, _four minute mile_ by the get up kids, _frame and canvas_ by braid, and _strand_ by the spinanes.

Word 'em up. I am not a big fan of MP3s, I like to listen to a whole album. And this is what I've been listening to lately.Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (timeless genius) Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works vol. 1 (not as good as volume 2, but real damn good) Shellac - 1000 Hurts (buy the vinyl, and you get the CD as well.) Nick Drake - Pink Moon (some sad guy 28 years ago went into a guitar studio and cranked this out in like 2 days. Just him and an acoustic guitar. And a piano on the title track. As heard in Volkswagen commercial.) Moby - Ambient (I like his ambient stuff.) Ida - Will You Find Me (everything Ida does is good) Bjork - Post (Why not?) A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory (because it is good hip- hop.) caP'n Jazz - Analphabetapolothology (Everything they did (almost) on 2 cds). This has been on my list for a very long while) Pieces in a Modern Style - William Orbit (foremost electronic producer arranges old classical pieces. It's awesome.)
I've been kind of soured on guitar rock lately. I dunno why.

I don't use computer enough to listen to mp3s and I don't even buy records, but I'm radio-addicted and use the old-fashioned cassette-recording system. My favourites includeThe Cranberries: Linger (among others) Jamiroquai: King for a Day Vdrttind (a famous Finnish modern folk music band) Sting: Desert Rose Bjvrk, Blur, REM, Manic Street Preachers, Radiohead...
Many current hits hit me too, but they're too many to say here.

aaah moby is great. I haven't downloaded any mp3's of his stuff though. radiohead is also really good. my goal is to download the whole new album before it comes out which shouldn't be hard. still going to buy it so I'm not a pirater!!
oh and a couple new songs to the lineup recently are:
Radiohead - Kid A
Radiohead - Morning Bell
Radiohead and U2 - Bubbles and Bottles
Black Box Recorder - Sex Life
Tenchi Muyo [anime] - lonely moon
Ooberman - Shorley wall
I like my new selections quite nicely. mom just cocks a head at me in confusion whenever she walks in in the midst of a play session..eh. :)

Hmm. U2 and Radiohead --- 2 of my favorite bands on one song?I have another to download.
I cannot express how tempted I am to do like you're doing and download the whole Radiohead album before it comes out! But I'm trying to restrain myself. so I've just gotten Motion Picture Soundtrack, the acoustic version. :) I like.
Oh hey, I was just looking at your weblog. I think Greenplastic.com has lyrics to the Kid A songs. They --- pretty much have everything.
Er. Keeping with the subject: My Sharona, by The Knack. 80's music rules.

oooh thanks for the site! and I just realised the other site I looked at does have lyrics. just not for the song 'kid a' ..neither did that site sooo maybe the lyrics aren't clear right now for that song..eh. it does just sound like mumbling to me..hehe.and yep, that radiohead and u2 song is really cool. I seem to only have part of it though. weird how on napster some songs seem cut off. ah well. it's good.
Motion Picture Soundtrack is still one of my favourite songs...I've had it on a bootleg since last year, but my cousin "borrowed" it in november and I'm supposed to get it back soon hopefully. I miss it..heh.
I finally downloaded that bjork and thom yorke song last night. it's great!! wahoo! what album would it be on though? I'll have to go look it up..hrm...
