Cast off your silence, ye quiet ones!greenspun.com : LUSENET : It's Always the Quiet Ones : One Thread |
OK, so we all know that Nae is on vacation. Sadly, Spike will be too, in just a few short hours. So lets liven up this message board! We don't need them! Don't be shy. We'll make quietones hopping! But still perfectly silent of course. Do you HEAR anything?C'mon RenYi, Andrew, Elaina, Eave, Talia (even), and especially all you folks reading who aren't saying anything! Lets get foruminating! (doncha just love making up words?)
ooh, there's an idea. We can compile all our own personal made up words. I know you have 'em. =)

Another term for xenophobia: ethnoritis

Post in the forum? Geez, next you'll be wanting a journal entry or something. (And I will write one, I promise. Really.)

foruminating...very cute. butterflies = flutter-bys that's mine... someone i know calls snowpeas = snowfleas, cause they don't like em...geez, i have a whole personal vocabulary for things...
but aside from that...what did you all forget to take freshmen year to your dorms? i'm in the midst of trying to complile my dorm list and packing for college...but you know how that goes...procrastination!
-- RenYi (Lorenyi@aol.com), August 06, 2000.
Eww, I don't like snow peas either. I think I might have to use that one, should it ever come up. This is great! I'm expanding my vocabulary. Oh, I am totally going to crush the GRE, whenever I decide to take it. =)I actually don't know if I forgot anything. But then, my dad and I drove to school, which was roughly 3000 miles away, so we had everything I might possibly need in the station wagon with us. And then, based on the distance from home, if I did forget something, I guess I just did without. =) But I did bring some things which I ended up regretting, and lugged back home with me in June so I wouldn't have them wasting space at school. Mainly those were books, however. So as a general word of caution, I don't know anyone who has any time whatsoever for pleasure reading, and I was no exception.
Happy packing!
(oy, I can't wait to pack up myself. Then I'll be very close to going back to school and getting away from here!)

Kaitlynn, i appreciate your forum maintaining, in fact, i think us quiet ones might dub thee the forum maintainer. What an honor.

Wow! You make me feel all warm and squishy inside!

Back to new words... hey Eave, remember such gems as "pig-e- cue" and "antisociable"? =)
-- Kaitlynn (kaitlynn@quietones.com), August 07, 2000.
I'm trying to block the horrible pig-e-cue incidents out of my mind. I still use antisociable, though...
-- Eave (eave@quietones.com), August 09, 2000.
So that's where that came from.

I still have, um, fond memories of haylofts...
