follow up to maggot question

Well....the Ivermectin worked on the maggots. I gave half subcutaneously near her head and squirted the rest directly around her mouth. Next morning they were dead. Don't know whats worse, picking live maggots or dead ones! The DVM's at work were surprised to hear of my results. I'm keeping her on antibiotics and I'm using tulle to make a head cover that I take off to let her eat, she can drink right thru it. The only question left is if the bone dies where it was exposed, but I can only wait and see. Thanks to everyone for their help.

Glad that worked. Not half as glad as you are, I am sure! Bone usually won't die from exposure. If you can get some pro-biotics from the vet and give them to her (usually it will be a tube of a paste)......she will need all the immune support she can get. Good luck.

So glad it worked! Keep her quiet and well fed, and let us know how she does!
