Just wanted to say congrats on the 4 on AP US Katie. The highest I have heard anyone get is a 3...most people got 2's that I know-and they took the class!! I got a 4 on my Psych one...I was just wondering what others got and if they're pleased. I am :)

I took a bunch of AP classes and bailed on the actual tests at the end of the year. NYU wouldn't let me put any AP credit towards my major in frivolity, so I decided not to bother with them.

It depends on the school system. During my junior year, we had to write a check at the beginning of the semester for our AP classes, but we were reimbursed for half by the end of the year. Senior year, the state decided to pay for everybody's AP test, so I didn't pay a cent.

yeah. i think it depends on the school system. usually AP exams cost about 80 dollars but my school was really poor so we only paid 45 dollars for it. what they should've done was just pay for it but hey, that's the nyc public school system for you!

i got a three on all of my exams except for the spanish. and because my school is annoying and "prestigious", i only got credit for the one i got a 5 on. annoying!

They were like 75 bucks a pop at my school, most likely because it was one of those snooty private ones. I think public schools have to pay for the test if you want to take it.

My school doesn't pay for shit. Students have to dish out ~$70 for each AP test. The only exception to this that I know of is AP Calculus BC--I took the class last year and there were so few students enrolled that the local rotary club (or some other private senior citizen's organization) paid for everyone's tests... all four of us.

My school decided to make everyone who takes the class take the test, so since we have to take the test, they pay for it, if you don't take the class but want the test, it's $76 our of your pocket :).

At my school if you take the class, you have to take the test. You also have to pay for it yourself. I took AP US History and AP Language and Composition this year (junior year). I got 3's on both of them. I'm pretty happy with that, although I was hoping for a 4 in Lang and Comp and was expecting a 2 in History. Next year I'm taking AP Environmental Science, AP Euro. History, and the English AP (I'm not sure of it's exact title).

When I was in high school, and I went to a public high school, we had to pay for all of our own tests. We didn't have to take the test if we were enrolled in the class, but it was recommended. It really sucked.

And let me tell you, after taking the AP classes, and getting the credits, and not having to take certain classes in college, I can say this one thing for certain: the best thing about AP classes is that they can give you a better number in the housing lottery. Forget all that crap about placing out of other classes. All of that is incidental, I tell you. It's the housing lottery. The more credits you have, the higher you're classified. The higher you're classified, the better your number.

At least, that's the way it works at the university I go to.

I took the AP US History test got a 4 on it. I was so happy that I cried when I got the results. I studied my ass off for that test. This year I'm taking AP Biology and Psychology, hopefully I can do good on those also.
