I was watching some cartoons on Fox the other day (nostalgia, you know) when a strange commercial for an upcoming show came on. The first shot of a hand putting on a leather glove was very Flux-like...also, the soundtrack had a female voice whispering "Who is she? Is she a hero?",etc... I think Peter Chung mentioned a new character in the works, but could he possibly let one of his creations appear on Fox Kids, who brings us Digimon? I suppose it's possible, yes? By the way, the show is apparently called "Cybersix"...

I've looked at the credits as they've winked by and so far I ain't seen Chung's name. I believe it's based on a comic by some Japanese guy. Not totally sure the credits were fast.

I watch cartoons for non-nostalgia reasons, hey some of them are good, mostly adcrap but some are okay. Tick, Freakazoid, Beast Wars, some EXO-squad. This year not good on much but I've watched CyberSix

Very strange show, no Aeon but it has it's charms. The main Charachter is a CyberSix some sort of gene-designed woman who escaped from her mysterious creator. She has a dayjob/ secret identity as a male lit. teacher in som e small, possibly mediterrainian city. She has a crush on another teacher (who thinks she's a guy). She lives with her brother who had his brian implanted into a panther by the creator and is being hunted by some weird Hitler youth kid named Jose. Not great but I watch it for it's sheer strangeness.

Heh... what I mean is, Cybersix looks like Peter Chung got together with CLAMP to produce a bishounen version of Aeon. I like the show, but can't help thinking "that's not a girl, that's a guy wearing lipstick!" when I watch.

7:30 AM, Saturday mornings. I don't usually get up that early, but will sometimes catch a rerun of MST3K, and that's when I saw Cybersix. It's certainly... different, and I hope it develops into something more than just average kidvid. If you watch it, let me know what you think.

Cybersix is a joint Canadian-Japanese cartoon that is based on a comic book series by a South American author. She is a man-made creation by a strange mad scientist, who escaped and went to live in a city, disguised as a man. At night, she goes around and acts like a quasi-superhero, saving the populace from other strange creations by the mad scientist who were sent to track Cybersix down and destroy her. It's a strange storyline, but very entertaining, and the animation is excellent.

I finally got a chance to see the last 10 minutes of Cybersix! Hey, it's a definite steal of Aeon herself, and even whoever does the voice seems to be doing Denise. Only saw 10 minutes, but it was great to see even a corruption of Aeon. Even the movements echo hers. Funny, she wears her hair like Peter Chung. BTW,can anyone give me a clear definition of what Bishounen means and also Manga? Oh, I saw Cybersix at 1130 a.m. (Fox, Kids), here in Phoenix, on Sunday. So in case you want to check it out without getting up at the crack of dawn on Saturday, you can get up at the crack of 11 or so.

Mangas are Japanese comics, and the basis for about 80-90% of all anime (all the big shows started as manga). Bishounen are the androgynous guys you see in anime & manga (think Zoicite).

I don't know much about Aeon Flux, but Cybersix was made in the 80's for an Italian newspaper, it was brought to the public thru large volumes a few years later in Spanish, then in French. The authors are Carlos Meglia and Carlos Trillo.

The Cyber-6 was created by Von Reichter, an ex-nazi largely inspired by Josef Mengele, a german of the WWII. Cybersix is the 6 model of the Cyber serie (it's tattoed on her arms, like in Death camps). The 5000 cybers were killed due to some problems, they had started to have a mind of their own, when 8. All killed but one. Meridiana, is in fact the "City of the Damned". One Cyber-6 fled from her creator, she got on an accident scene. There, was a boy of her age, dead. She was trying to find something usefull on the corpse when she find the passeport, with the name Adrian Seidelman.

Dr. Joseph Mengele, who was famous for his cruelty and inhumane acts. He worked with twins, at Auschwitz, the most infamous of all concentration camps. They called him the "angel of death" and he was known to be very handsome, a fastidious dresser with a riding crop and highly polished boots. He experimented on twins because they were, as he believed, the perfect subject for study, as one could remain the control, while the other endured the 'experiments'. He injected blue dye into their eyes to see if they could be changed from brown to blue, so as to look Aryan, one of the many things he did, the records are of course not available, at least to the knowing public. Some 3000 twins were selected, a set of 1500 were 'experimented' on. Of course tortured subjects and witnesses can be an occupational hazard, so they were put to death with shots of Phenal. 200 escaped at the end of the war. Can't you just imagine his lab, with subjects enduring different forms of study, gee, that kind of reminds me of another lab, in "A Last Time for Everything". I had not made this connection before. Very interesting, thanks for the information. So, Von Reichter was a Nazi and inspired by Dr. Mengele? More than fascinating...history.

I stay up until 5:00 in the morning, on a typical night, and have been watching Cyber-Six almost every night. The animation quality is SOME OF THE BEST ANIMATION on television. It is much higher quality than my big disapointments X Men (which I WANT to love, really) and most anime series. I study animation, and I have to give respect where it is due. Even the music score for the show is quite mature, and sad, and goes perfectly! "Our love will conquer fear" is the closing song, and it makes me get shivers everytime. Now, as my name implies, I am a huge Aeon fan. The only similarities I have found so far is that both their hair is black, and they both wear a latex or pvc (shiny) like material. THATS IT! Other than that, they are TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Aeon is untouchablly sexy, dark, intelligent and dextrous. Cyber-6 is the reluctant heroine, who is subdued, contemplative, tortured, and also has powers, like her strength and agility. They are quite different to me, but thats just me. I do love both of the shows, and both Aeon and Cyber-6 have found a place in my heart.

That X-men cartoon is an older, that why the quality isn't up to par. I was watching thats as many a five to six years ago. Get over it and see that underneath the shabby exterior, is a reasonable show. Its not great but its not bad.

It seems Cybersix's days are over at Fox... too bad, it had potential. I like demented kids shows, especially ones with dark colors, angular people and transvestitism. Although the new "Los Luchadores" has weirdness to burn... three Mexican wrestlers (only one of which is actually Latino) fighting evil, with their cyber-chihuahua and a Jamaican (read: bad accent) mentor, to latin flavored WWF Smackdown music. Needless to say, I love it.

First it was the misplacement of (older comic lovers) "The Tick" to fox kids which amazingly lasted three seasons with most fans not even knowing it exsisted till it was to late. Then probably a whole slew of bad mistakes in between. Now its the horribly edited versions of "Escaflowne" which lasted about a month and the "Cyber 6" disappearence? What the hell? Who's crap idea was it to bring back dungeons and dragons from the 80's to try to drum up sales for a horrible movie funded by a card company(the shows ratings fell as fast as the movie). Maybe they should be looking into quality reshowings of shows that people need to be aware exsisted back then like "The Mighty Orbots". If you dont know about that show, you should its animation is still to this day better then most cartoons out there.

I have been a Cyber6 fan for some time now and have been taping the episodes ever week. There are only 13 of them and I have most of them. One thing though, the show is based off of a comic book series by Carlos Meglia and Carlos Trillo. I think they are from Brazil or Argentina, not sure on that part, but somewhere from South America for sure.

I've got all 13 eps of Cybersix capped off Teletoon (the Canadian station that first aired it) and burned onto CD in RealVideo. Even then, I love the show so much I'll probably get around to picking up the video release available up here in Canada, though I'm held back getting VHS knowning there's a DVD release available in France... Oh well, gotta work on getting ahold of those original comics, even if they are only available in Spanish or French.

How can anyone defend that horrible cartoon, X-men? Who ever made it was just plain lazy. The Spiderman cartoon that followed was like 30 times better for animation and diologue. A perticular gem in my mind from the X-men show was when he proposed to Jean. "Jean, will you marry me?" "Oh Cyclops!" All I can help thinking is he has a stunned look under that visor and is about to say "My names Scott". The only thing that saves this show are the caracter concepts and the storys, both the anamation company had nothing to do with.

I´m an argentinian Flux fan. There was a show called cibersix in the AF style in the begining of the 90´s. A famous model made the cibersix character called Carolina Pelereti, but it had low rating and was canceled. It was on air only 4 or 5 episodes.

CyberSix is based on an Argentenian Comicbook, who'd have thunk it huh? And the animation itself is way old (I think maybe this forum topic may be way old/dead too? (i duno i just stumbled on here!) In any case, the animation was done pre-year 2000 by a japanese group of artists, and first launched in my dear Canada so long ago. It started hitting other countries in 2000-2001

Hey most of you are all wrong, I watch this show every day!! Its about a girl who lifes her lif as a man named Jullian, in order to keep her identity hidden, because she does not want to be found by the man who was in charge of her. The show is called Cyber 6 because on her right arm there is a tattoo saying "Cyber 6". She also stays with her brother who is by the way a Panther!! He had his brain put in the panthers body by an evil man who happens to be Jose's father. All together the show is great!!!!!!
