Does it matter what it means? Does your name fit you? What would you name yourself, if you were given the choice? Would you go back and change your parents' minds if you could?

From what I remember, my name means youthful but I haven't looked it up recently. I'd like to though. Would you (Jenna) be able to provide some insight on where you got such complete answers to what your names meant? I'd love to know mine in full like yours.

My name, which incidentally has an accent over the "e" which remains invisible in one-computer-language-keyboard-land, is a Latin word meaning "life force." At least that's the only definition my father was aware of when he named me. The word survived to make it into French and mean "pep or vivacity." In Hebrew, it's a type of tree and is a common male name.

I only sporadically fit the French definition, but it's Latin predecessor is perfectly suited to me. Although I hate having it mispronounced as "Elaine" or "Ellen," I couldn't have thought of a better one or one more beautiful than (phonetically) "AY-lahn." I certainly would never change it. I have, however, legally changed my last name -- and what it was, I'll never tell! :)
