I have tried to post a new set of Corinthian League results and am being informed that there is insufficient space left on the device to handle it.

It's got to be worth deleting all the past results to free up space and I will try to fing somewhere else to publish this stuff.

If it helps to give some extra space, then all of the E2K Predictions Competition can be deleted. The competition is obviously over, and I've got a full copy of them all on local file anyway. So that may free up some space. It will also help, space wise, if I am going to do the same competion for the Toon matches from August onwards.

I may be speaking out of turn here, but I'm sure the same could be said for the Guess the Team stuff from Last Season. I wouldn't have thought that Geordie would want them now.

Hope that helps.

Hmmmmm. I just set up a whole new discussion group on Greenspun so that we can move the Corinthian League off here, but it won't accept it on there either. This means that it's not so much a matter of space on this particular forum but just that the server no longer accepts my tables. I copy the results and what have you into notebook first so they are literally a series of rich text format characters, so it's not like I'm sending the formulae as well. Very odd - as you can see, the results are fine but it won't take even a single table from one division. I think I am going to have to get a web-page of my own for the tables and link it to a discussion forum. Starting from scratch is always a bit daunting, isn't it? :-(

Probably just as well...Jonno has shown me some amazingly fiddly formulae to automatically produce loads of the stuff I currently do manually. The new system is well underway. I have completed a master spreadsheet of every appearance, card, goal, clean sheet, player over the last 5 seasons for each of the 234 matches I have the stats for. Using this I've produced a price list for the players from a total of 200mil quid. True showed me how to get a fixture list for 20 teams to tesselate perfectly and I had linked various tables together to work out a very cunning new scoring system which should keep everyone happy.

The upshot is that I've been beavering away in my spare time producing this behemoth and I'm simply not prepared to let the thing die now. As soon as I figure out how to get my own website I'll float the new/improved game. Bliddy technology!!!

Sounds marginally more difficult than getting a season ticket for SJP, or even setting up a functioning Waiting List system!

Good luck Softie - the BBS expects, and all that .......

I've never managed to paste a spreadsheet onto a html webpage mate, but can give you some details on how to upload stuff to your own site. Val and I have plenty of space @ www.virtualnewcastle.com/whatever???/address

I can put you in touch with a salesman.

Tons of free webspace out there, Softie. Does your own isp offer anything? That's usually the best place to start as they tend to be a little more reliable than things like Fortunecity(who I only recommend you avoid like the plague!) or Xoom. Most of these places offer an online uploading-for-dummies interface to start you off if you're uncomfortable with ftp. But I'd really recommend downloading CuteFTP. Rik turned me onto that one and it's a great tool! Very easy to use, and much faster than the online interfaces offered.

You're already nearly writing html pages when you do tables, so all you have to do is add a couple more tags to make it an independent page...like this:
*html*
*head**title*
BBS Corinthian League*/title**/head*
*body*

Body of your document goes here. Same as if you were posting it to this forum.

*/body*
*/html*

That's all there is to it. Replace the asterisks with greater than and less than symbols as with any other tag. I only used asterisks cause I'm being to lazy to code in the normal symbols. ;-)
Save the file as a .html file and upload it. Feel free to add me to your list of help sources. :-)
