Well, I've had no input about Intrepid back on the main Message Board, and I can't get either of the top two scores to play back (Phil Lamat, Aquatarkus), even though they are confirmed, so I'm debating whether to delete them or not. I would really appreciate if someone could tell me whether they will playback for them or not, and whether the playing conditions were the same before the romset was fixed or not.

I AM going to delete German Krol's two Arkanoid 2 .inps, seeing as how they do not playback under any circumstances for me, and he admits as much in his description line (.pcx's are included, I believe BenJos wiped all the other players' but somehow missed these) However, on the off chance that somebody can miraculously get these to play back, I thought I would leave a day or two grace period for someone else to check them out.

Can you please also delete German's 609K Frogger recording. This one is totally bogus and I've discussed it in detail with Mark L. and Steve K. and both agree. Mark also plans to remove it from his MAME high score site. German clearly used a really slow machine or MOSLO which gave him much more time to complete each level. I'd delete it myself, but I don't want to give the wrong impression here since I've got 2nd place. :)

As mentioned earlier, I had no luck with his arkanoid INPs...

I've recently confirmed three intrepid recordings, they played back with out a hitch (however i automatically delete the cfg/hi/nvram files maybe that's it) but none of the ones i played back were later than mame36b10.

Also it looks like GK's only arkanoid2 recording of 1.7M was zeroed, i was not able to play that one back, and i'm also going to edit it so it says DQ for slowdown not DQ for autofire/slowdown because analinp has no part in it's DQing, it was simply a bug that was detecting the autofireness. I have been able to playback the 200K GK arkanoids from what zwaxy has suggested they will be left in for brevity.

whoa that's some forethought, you were debating to delete them on the 14th, but you deleted them on the 3rd (two weeks ago from the 20th :)

also, i can't ask a question on this board, it gives me a notify error. i was going to ask a playback test for A.D.'s devilw score. i can only get it to playback to 53k.

Yeah, well, what can I say. When you're on the ball... sometimes it's a magical time-travelling ball, and you can reshape events according to a better, more enlightened vision. Or something like that. Or whatever. I debated the issue with Ben Jos and Crash and either Pat or Gameboy9 before posting (there's a post on the main message board which may have slipped out from underneath your magnifying glass) and then posting again to the Editors board when no one answered. I then traced the version changes records at MAME, found transparency problems (rooms were clear), chatted again with Ben Jos and Crash, and then decided to wipe all pre beta .35 .inps.

I haven't heard any complaints, and Mr. Lamat himself was present today in the chatroom and said nothing on the issue, so I assume that I didn't tread too heavily on anybody's toes, even with my time-travelling ball.

Where the hell was this metaphor going again. I dunno. Anyway, hope this clarifies things.

oh you noticed? nothing like the bbh story, but i might as well blab it since only 4 people will ever hear it, in 1988 i got my first unix account and someone spelled my username wrong because of my horrific hand writing and i kept it ever since. anyways, who wants to go all the way over to the w when you can just hit another r :)

i don't think you mentioned where the all the q's come from in your name besides quentin (my favorite name by the way, probably because of 'The Sound and The Fury'.)
