My friend gets it stuck in her head all the time, so I think it's funny. Hey Wendy, what are your thoughts on Abercrombie & Fitch?

When I'm down and need a pick-me-up song nothing works better than the Alive 3 version of Deuce by KISS pumped up until the nieghbours complain oh yeah!!! Another song that gets me dancing and happy is I Wanna Be Like You by Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen. Totally different but so infecteous I just can't help myself. Go on, just give it one listen and you'll be hooked on it too. *feeling my dancing feet twitching* but I can't. it's after midnight here lol bed time for little aussie freaks lol. night

I hate being a jerk, but on Reel Big Fish's "She Has A Girlfriend Now", it's Monique from Save Ferris, not Gwen Stefani. I made that mistake when I first heard it, those two sound SO much alike.

I second the nomination of "Brown-Eyed Girl." Let's see, what else..."Rapper's Delight," (although I still don't yet know all the words. And I thought I was the only one who got happy from listening to "Cecelia"! Wow:) I know its like, the world's cheesiest song, but I adore "Viva Las Vegas":) Always makes me dance:) I also love "Penny Lane" by the Beatles and "Pleasant Valley Sunday" by the Monkees. They are very fun to sing and clean to. Other happy songs are "Killer Queen" by Queen, "Dancing Queen" by ABBA (got a Queen theme:), "Road to Nowhere" by the Talking Heads (if only for the video), "Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog" by Three Dog Night, "We Got the Beat" by the Go-Go's, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper, "Material Girl" by Madonna, "Come On Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners (my fave 80's song), any Motown girl group from the 60's song, and finally, my favorite song of all time: "Summer in the City" by the Loving Spoonful.

Does anyone remember that song from a couple years ago called "Your Woman" by White Town? (("Well, I guess what they say is true, I could never be the right kind of girl for you...")) anything Pixies, particularly "Geofrey" (with one F, Geofrey) and "Little Eiffel" off Trompe Le Monde and one off of Doolittle, although I can't think of the name of it. Ooh, "subbacultcha" (sp?) too. that's a good one.

Iggy Pop--"lust for life". I hate that car commercial, but that beat sure does make me bop my head around and do a little jig when I hear it.

Operation Ivy--I think the song is called "Sound System". And "She's a Bombshell" off the self-titled CD.

Sebadoh-#3 off of Harmacy. I can't remember the name of it. Can you tell I don't ever look at the CD packaging? I just pop the CD in and lose the case, so I hardly ever figure out what the names of the songs are. Anyhoo, the song starts, "So you think you're in the middle of an ocean, stranded on an island of your own" Those who know the album will recognize the song, hopefully.

Beck--that Deborah song, that just cracks me up. I wanna get with you, and your sister...

Beastie Boys--body movin', get it together, paul revere (kind of sick of that one, but it's nice to hear now and then)

old r.e.m. Begin the Begin. Finest Worksong. Can't get there from here. I like singing along and laying on that thick, Southern accent in r.e.m.'s earlier stuff.

OK.. I need to put a little background in here before I jump into naming songs.

Until I was eight years old, my family lived in this little cabin. The Cabin did not have electricity. (It really wasn't as bad as it sounds and I didn't know any different.) no electricity=no TV, right? We had two radios, one big "good" one and one smaller "bad" one. The smaller bad one used fewer batteries so we had to listen to that one except on special occasions (when we used the good one.) That was fine, except the small one had horrible reception. We only got one AM country radio station. And that was the music I was raised on. I am seventeen years old, and even now, when I hear certain country songs from that mid to late eighties period I have to smile. And sing. And dance. Those are songs that truly make me happy. It is a cross between Cabin nostalgia and childhood nostalgia.

Thus said, here are some examples of Cabin music:
