Division One Playoff First Leg
3 January 2000, West Ham at SJP, 2-2. Dabizas and Speed put us 2-0 up in an unattractive game, and most of us were follishly feeling secure with 5 minutes to go when Lampard pulled one back to make it interesting. Even then, there was no real danger until Pistone conceded a pointless free kick in our half, and everything suddenly seemed to be underwater as we watched the freekick loop inevitably onto Stimac's forehead and into the back of the net. Bobby took a big, sh*tty stick to them after the match: it was a clutch of games like this that stopped us from doing significantly better last season. Perhaps Lee being replaced by Fumaca half way through tells its own story.

BBS Notionless League Division 1 Playoff Leg 1
Y Yobs 1-0 TSW How Har 0-2 Q Mech A narrow lead for Yelli's Yobs over The Stellar Warriors, whilst the fans at The Broon Bowl were left stunned as Howdon Harriers slumped to a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of the Quantam Mechanicals: surely too much to pull back?

Second leg tonight! Eek!

Excitement is high in the Q. Mechs. camp for the return match at ????? Park Avenue. There has been some comment on the non- orientable pitch prepared for tonight's game. Yes, it may be a Klein bottle with no boundary and yes it is certainly possible to run up your own arse, but its the same for both sides. Complaints from the Howdon Harriers that the pitch can only be embedded in four dimensional space are specious and can only be due to their inability to find a suitable Riemmanian metric on their training ground. Come on you lads.

Bad news for my boys - we always seem to perform very badly in the earlier games - and a 1-0 lead isn't much of a cushion!!Fingers crossed!!! (;o)
