What's wrong with people nowadays?greenspun.com : LUSENET : annarchy : One Thread |
I don't know, but lately I've felt as if something's gone wrong with people, something's made them completely nuts - obnoxious, rude, just plain strange. I know *you're* not, but I would like your theories on what is really wrong with people.

Ooh, first to post.
The answer, my dear Annakins, is that people are completely nuts. They always have been, but when you're young, you're more nuts than most people are anyhow, so you don't notice it. As you get older, you get more and more normal. There are just some people who don't.
So anyhow, all the young people who are nuts and the old people who aren't getting more normal will all drive you up a wall because you're trying to be a mature responsible person or some such shit.

Hm, I think it's due to modern times or something. Life keeps moving faster, it gets more and more about the material stuff every day, and people get more arrogrant, selfish *and* superficial. And it's mainly the shallowness that makes them stupid.Hm, that's what I think :)

i think there is a major difference between OUR generation, and the next up, those born in the 90s and such. not that we are the most respectful people ever, but as a child, i had respect for my elders, i never dreamed of back talking, or being rude. kids these days are so annoying, they think they can do whatever they want, without consequences. look at me, ranting like an 80 year old. blah.

Or maybe you're just being snotty and they all think you're obnoxious and rude, and in reality they're all beautiful and priceless snowflakes. Well, the flake part seems to apply to you quite well, but you're anna, so it's ALL OK!!!:)

No respect. Taught that there is no right or wrong. No mysteries left to discover. No sense of country. No religion. No fear of consequences. No discipline therefore no satisfaction in small indiscipline therefore craving for mega indiscipline for buzz therefore hurts others.
