I wrote this article and it appeared on the editorial page of our local paper. If you are against abortion, which you should be. Please get your congregation to send a post card to each of your Senators every week for the next ten weeks. So far I have over 10,000 people doing this. I don't know if it will make a difference, but we must do something!

Million Mother March For Gun Control

There were 4,643 gun-related deaths among young people (ages 0-19) in the United States in 1996. Of these: 2,866 were homicides; 1,309 were suicides; 376 were unintentional shootings; and 92 were of unknown intent. I watched with great interest the Million Mother March for gun control. As I saw the events unfold I thought, I wonder how many of these women who are marching to save children are pro abortion? It blows my mind when millions march for gun control while millions of mothers and abortion doctors are murdering innocent children every year in America. In fact, since 1973 some 31,000,000 babies have been aborted in America. A entire generation of children never grew up to become productive citizens because their mothers had them killed. When these precious souls stand before God on judgment day perhaps one will ask, "What would I have been God, if I had been allowed to live?" God may respond, "You would have invented the cure for cancer." To another, "You would have been the president that brought America out of moral decay. To another, "You would have been a great preacher influencing thousands to make a difference in the world." But that is a pipe dream now, because every last one of them are dead.

That same day as I spoke to one store clerk about my concerns, she proudly proclaimed that she was pro-choice. She said, I can do what ever I want! In essence, she believes in the right of a woman to do what she pleases with her life. Especially when it comes to abortion. It is her body and it ought to be her choice. Too bad that she is more concerned about the rights of a grown woman than she is about the rights of an innocent baby.

Dont talk to her about the responsibility a person has prior to conception. Dont tell her that godly morals are the solution to this problem. Dont tell her that adoption agencies throughout the country have people waiting in line. She does not want to hear it. She only cares about herself! She has the Burger King mentality that has crippled our nation. She wants to, Have it her way. She wants a woman to have the right to do what she wants with her body, even if it means committing murder.

How can we as Americans stand back and do nothing to stop the slaughter of these Innocent children? The hypocrisy coming from Washington is enough to make a whale puke. We are preaching human rights to the rest of the world while we slaughter millions of innocent babies, who according to our laws have no rights! In fact, before this year in over 1,600,000 children are going to be killed by their mothers and abortion doctors.

What should bother us even more is how far our society will go to protect a baby bird, a little puppy, Salmon, speckled owls, and old trees. Too bad that it will not protect little babies in their mothers womb. What has happened to our society? We will spend millions saving the whales, but we will do nothing to stop the execution of these innocent babies. How can one justify this?

You and I are going to be held accountable if we have said nothing and done nothing to stop the slaughter of these innocent little ones. It is time to stand up and be counted. Do you have enough intestinal fortitude to stand in the face of political correctness? Then do it!

I just have one minor correction. "Millions" did not march for gun control. At best we are talking 175,000.

What the press failed to tell us correctly.....is that almost as many women marched "for" protecting the right to own and carry firearms.

What the press has also failed to tell us is.....the NRA's membership is swelling as people are finally beginning to wake up and see the danger of the current "gun control hysteria."

Amazing ain't it Jim.....we have a Second Amendment that clearly spells out the right to have a gun......yet.....liberals stand up for abortion as a Constitutional right....and yet look at the lengths they have gone to twist the Fourth Amendment (right to privacy) to come up with abortion.

I'm absolutely postive our founding fathers would cry over this one.

Women on Waves Foundation, a nonprofit group based in the Netherlands, plans to start a clinic on board a Dutch ship named Sea Change, the group said. The ship will sail "around the world to provide training, workshops, information, contraceptives, and abortion," it said. The foundation was started last year by Dutch physician Rebecca Gomperts, a leading pro-choice figure in the Netherlands. ...Women on Waves is a group of "pirate abortionists," Judie Brown of the American Life League said. It is "circumventing the sovereign rights of nations by carrying women offshore to kill their children." Aside from the legal question, she said, "it is untenable to think that a safe abortion could be performed on the rolling high seas."
