Class reunions

Are you going (or have you gone) to any of your class reunions? Why/why not? If you've been to one, how was it?

I'm still only in tenth grade, but I don't think I would. on the one hand it would be piss funny to see how all the popular bitches screwed up their lives, but I can't stand most of the girls in my year level.

I don't ever plan on going to a class reunion, but I have kept in touch with alot of people from high school who will be my spies haha. I didn't go to any formals (proms), either. The girls who arranged the formals/reunions and other sorts of events were always so nice and I hated when they asked me why I never wanted to go, because how do you explain that half the grade treats you like shit, and will no doubt give you more at a social gathering? Give me a break.

Went to my 5th, more out of curiosity than anything else. I puposely didn't keep in touch with anyone and was't going to go, but changed my mind and wound up having a pretty decent time. There was supposed to be a 10th reunion, but it never happened. And to really sound old....my 15th is just around the corner. Ouch.

I suppose I'd go, if someone would schedule it. My fifth would have been last year, but didn't exist.

I'm still debating on whether or not I'll go to my class reunions. I would love to go to see if some people had changed or just to see some old friends that I didn't keep in touch with. I'll probably go if I know for a fact that the people I most want to see again will definately be going.

I still have a while until any of my reunions, but I think I'll most likely be going. I think it'd be interesting to see what happens to all the people that I know, especially some of the bitches and some "freaks". Well, just people in general I guess. I mean, I'm probably not going to keep in touch with all my friends, so it'd be really nice to see how everyone is.

I will go. I want to see how much everyone changes and how unsuccessful the "popular" people are. Actually, that sounds bad. It just seems like they thought they were the ones that would be all high and mighty and shit, so I want to see. Plus, I think it'll be fun.

Yeah, I'd love to see how the "popular" girls all ended up to be living in a trailor with eleven kids (what is it about the downfall of another human being that's so grotesquely interesting to us??), but I'm not sure I'd actually want to go. I mean, you think about how people on tv shows are always trying to loose weight for their reunions and stuff, and it seems like I'd rather just remember old friends the way they were. I think going back and seeing them 15 years later would be depressing. But that's just me *shrug*

Um, people who are popular are usually that way for a reason. Like, they're good looking and have good social skills. Which will probably translate into their being successful at something. I dunno, that's how I picture the popular people at my school, but I go (well, went, I graduated yesterday) to an all-boys prep school, so perhaps it is different.

If it just so happened I looked really good and I was sucessful and all that, then I would THINK about going.. with my sexy as all hell husband, of course.. but who knows.. Right now I'd say no.. but I'm in a pissy mood.

Yeah, dan. I guess you're right in some instances. But in my high school it was a lot different. If you had money and the right clothes you were "popular". I really have nothing against them, as a whole, though because some of them talked to me.

It's funny now that I'm in college, and we're all out of high school, all of them talk to me. Hmmmm...

Off topic, off topic, off topic, off topic!

Dan - on a side note, it's definitely different at my school. At a Catholic all-girls wealthy private school, BELIEVE ME, the popular girls are the sluts. Some of them are rich, most of them are attractive, very few of them are really intelligent (actually, I think it's only one and she smokes pot, so that just shows how dumb she is), and I can definitely see them in ten years trying to act like they're 15 again.

Sorry for the angst. I've had a shitful day, mostly due to the 'popular' girls.

i graduated from my high school, but i was never invited to my 5 year reunion which was last summer. i was in the mall and saw and old classmate and he asked me why i didn't go. i was pretty surprised. i told him i never got an invitation. i always figured i would never want to go to one of those damn things because i hated high school, but i actually felt bad about not being invited. it was a weird feeling.

Yeah, but being rich and attractive is a pretty good start towards being successful. Not to mention being slutty.

I will be going to each and every one of my high school reunions, because I'm the one planning it/them. As class president (a meaningless title), I get to be responsible for keeping tabs on every one of my classmates, no matter what they meant (or didn't mean) to me. For every reunion, *someone* is putting in a lot of work, and it would be quite an insult to not recognise that out of spite for your ex-classmates.

Also, I want to see all of the girls who tanned themselves silly in high school...they will be leather bags. :)
