Sometimes I tend to become discouraged with what I see and what I hear being taught in the church today. But when I look around I find there are still many faithful congregations. My wife and I have opportunity to visit many different congregations in various areas. Some are heartbreaking others are a real joy. While our son-in-law and daughter were in Philadelphia for 2 years they met with the Pittman NJ Church of Christ. On our visits we attended with them. I have never been more impressed with the curch than there at Pittman. The church took our kids in as family. Each and every Holiday they invited them into there homes. They watched over them as we as parents would. The teaching there is excellent. The singing is outstanding,(no instrument). (We are cc members). And the giving and care for others is an example to be followed. The congregation is made up of black and white members and leadership. (I have often wondered how the church can be located in a community that has many black, white etc. members and still be all one color). They also practice Church Discipline, A subject many seem to have forgotten. We will always have fond memories of the church at Pittman and be thankful for their part in the growth of our kids.Faris
